Are my archives uploaded anywhere?
No. Unfold processes archives on your computer. Archive contents and extracted files are not uploaded by the app.
Do I need an account?
No account, sign-in, or cloud service is required.
Which archive formats are supported?
ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ/TGZ, TAR.XZ/TXZ, GZ, and XZ.
Can I preview files without extracting them?
Yes. Supported images, text files, JSON, XML, and PDF documents can be previewed from inside an archive.
Can I extract only selected files?
Yes. Select individual files or folders, or extract the complete archive.
What happens when a file already exists?
You can replace it, skip it, or keep both copies with a new name.
Does Unfold remember what I opened?
Recent archive paths can be stored locally for convenience. You can clear the history or disable it in Preferences.
